How to Run Local AI Art Models on a MacBook

You can install and run a local AI model on a normal 32GB MacBook in about five minutes.

Free, private, and entirely offline.

AI art is here to stay, and the best way to defeat an enemy is to understand it. So, I decided I’d run it locally, using models where I can inspect the training data, tuned on my own hand-drawn art.

But looking into it is daunting: MLX, Ollama, Hugging Face, GGUF, Quantisation. It all sounds very scary!

Let’s get these acronyms tamed so you can have a go at making your own local AI art for your LinkedIn sh*tposts without feeding the machine 👇

Come talk to me about it on LinkedIn
